Sydoriv is a village located 7 km south of Husiatyn, Ternopil region. Among many others, this village is distinguished by the fact that here lies one of the most beautiful castles of Ukraine - Sydoriv Castle.

Long time ago in Sidorov was situated the ancient demesne of Kalinowski family. In 1640, Hetman Martin Kalinowski built here a castle made of sandstone and limestone. The castle is perched on a hilltop enclosed on three parts by a river Suhodol. Initially, the structure had 7 towers. Until now inner and outer walls of the north-western part are preserved, which once served as the primary defense unit. The southern Bastea, with arched entry opening, above which there is a stone slab with the date of foundation of the castle. Magnate families Kalinowski and Tarnowski coats of arms carved in stone remained above the entrance gate in the western tower. Another decoration of the tower is a huge stone slab, with Sidoriv Castle history written in Latin.

The events of the year 1672 broke the story of the Sidoriv Castle as defense installations. Turkish troops actually destroyed the castle. It was rebuilt in about 1738. At the beginning of the XIX century for unknown reasons, the castle was sold to Ignatius Raygert, whose family owned it until 1941. However, in 1730 before the sale, Dominican church was built in Sidoriv. The cloister continued the Kalinowski family tradition to build something unique, which has no analogues of it. According to plan Dominican Church is like a coat of arms "Kalinovaya" in honor of Kalinowski – an arrow on bow with two stars. The arrowhead – is a part of the altar, bow - presbyter, and the stars - the two bell towers. Today only rustbound organ framework, remains of wooden altars are preserved from its former beauty.

In 1840 the Paygerts who had bought the castle in Kalinowski, build a new castle in a large garden courtyard because the old was not suitable for habitation. Once there was a huge library. Unfortunately, by the "admirers" of the history of books, antique furniture and luxurious parquet floor was broken. The last representatives of the Paygerts did not want to take care about the family ancient demesne and soon the castle was abandoned. During World War II the castle was completely ruined. Today, both courtyards look at the modern inhabitants of Sidoriv from the height of the plateau and pray for help. But, alas, the cry still remains unanswered. The streets of the village are also sleepy and deserted.
