Kharkov is located in the Eastern part of Ukraine in the valley of rivers Kharkov, Lopan’ and Uda. At the territory of the city these rivers join and
flow into river Donets. The territory of modern Kharkov city covers 300 square kilometers and is divided into nine districts. He died here in 1794 and was buried here. The house, where this famous painter Ilya Repin was born in a little town of Chuhuiv, not far from Kharkov and spent his childhood there.
