The first point of our route is Novomoskovsk, in 25 km from Dnepropetrovsk.

The main attraction is the Novomoskovsk Trinity Cathedral, located on the central square. The cathedral was built without a single iron nail - they are used only in the façade of the church. Trinity Cathedral in Novomoskovsk is a miracle of wooden architecture. 35th wooden cathedral has no interior supports and columns, its tall towers support one another. From any side you look onto the temple, you will see only eight of its nine domes. Design features can be observed from the inside: there is no ceiling of the temple in the ordinary sense of the word, and the great hall is crowned with the towers.
Novomoskovsk is also famous for its beautiful countryside: there are many scenic spots on the river Samara.
After passing another 5km, following the map you get to the Samara monastery, which is the second point of our route.

Samara Nicholas Desert Monastery is the main shrine of Cossacks. The first church of the hospital and the school was built by Zaporozh Cossacks on an island between the river Samara and her inlet as far back as 1576. In 1602 the holy monastery transformed into a haven for retired elderly Cossack, but was officially founded in 1672. During the Turkish War fortifications were built. Nicholas Church in baroque style was built in 1782-87 years. In the last century the monastery played the part of a home for the elderly, and a boarding school for the insane. Now here returned the church and active restored.
According to rumors Samara monastery, located a few kilometers from Novomoskovsk, and Holy Trinity Cathedral in downtown are connected by an ancient subterranean passage. In the cathedral even the floors were relaid, but no-one could really find an underground passage up to the present day.
Back to Dnepropetrovsk by the same road.
The most convenient way to start the route is from the city of Dnipropetrovsk. If you're in another city, you will need to get to Dnepropetrovsk and go on a journey, following the map. If you arrive to Dnepropetrovsk without your own car (by train or plane) then you can turn into any of the car rental agencies and rent a car for trips.
