The first point of our route is Kozelets which is located at the distance of 77 km from Kiev.

To get to Kozelets by car use the Highway M01, Kiev-Chernihov
Getting there by public transport: shuttle bus from the metro station "Lisova", "Chernigovskaya", "Darnitsa."
Tips: There are a lot of picturesque places near the road with cafes and restaurants where you can stop on your way from Kiev to Kozelets.
In Spring the shores of Oster river, on which ancient town Kozelets is located, are covered with yellow flowers carpet. The name of the flowers is kozeltsi. Kozelets residents say that the city got its name due to this flowers.
To see in Kozelets:

Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God built in 18th century. The temple was created in Baroque style and extremely impress with the striking elegance. The gilded iconostasis carved from linden dominates in interior of the cathedral, which was created, as they say, under control of the famous architect V. Rastrelli. There is four tier tower with the high of 50 meters, which is seen far from the field area.
The temple is built on the costs of the mother of Olexy Rozum (church singer and shepherd) who later became the earl Razumovskii.

Church of Christ's Resurrection was built in the 19th century in Ukrainian Baroque style. It is located in the center of the town, 150 meters from the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God. Today it is the museum with the exposition of weaving. Address: Str.Komsomolskaia, 28. Open hours: 9:00-17:00, Ex. – Monday, Tuesday.
St. Nicholas Church, the patron saint of all travelers by land and water, which is located on a small hill on the shore of Oster. The church was founded in late Ukrainian Baroque style at the expenses of the priest K. Tarlovskii and other parishioners in 1784. The cathedral is still active. Address: Str. Komsomolskaya, 9

Manor of Pokorschina. This place is located on the eastern outskirts of Kozelets, right there from the road to the village Danivka. The House named in the memory of those times when Russian Queen Elizabeth gave in handsome shepherd Olexa Razum. The place is situated in the old park with he picturesque landscapes near the river Oster. The main part of the manor is a small one-storied house, the former landlord's house of the 18th century. Also, to the manor belongs beautiful wooden shed for carriages. Address: Semii Razumovskih,41.
Regimental office House of the Kiev regiment is an architectural monument of 18th century, one of two surviving chancelleries of Cossack regiments. In Soviet times there were punitive organs, then there was Gestapo at the time of German occupation, and today is a children library room.
Then we are moving forward to Baturin, which is located on the distance of 148 km from the Kozelets.

Tips: In Bautrin there are overwhelming number of museums, monuments and attractions. All museums are opened until 17.00, so be absolutely sure to devote most of your trip time to Baturin. You should pay entrance fee to museums. In most of them you should also pay for photos. The city was founded as a fortress. The first time the town was mentioned in 1625. It was the capital of Zaporozhye Cossacks and the residence of hetman of Left Bank Ukraine. In 1708 Baturin was completely burnt down by Russian troops, and then the town was presented to earl Rozumovskii in 1760. The Grandson of Kirill Razumovskii, the russian poet Alexei Tolstoi hadn`t forgot his Ukrainian roots, and called everyone to those magical places.

In oder to understand this you should come to glorious Hetman's capital Baturin and take those paths that Hetman were going themselves. The city is situated on the picturesque banks of Seim, that is why there are so many beautiful places.

Nature reserve "Hetman capital" of Baturyn fortress, built in 1625 on a high bank of the Seim. Address: Str. Hetmanska, 74
Razumovskii Palace constructed in classical style in 1799-1803. The project of the Palace was created by scottish Charles Cameron and Italian architect A.Rinaldi. They have chosen the best place in Baturin for the building of the Palace, right on the hill above the river Seim. The Palace fascinates all the people, who are mowing along the highway Kiev-Moscow, with its greatness. Unfortunately, Hetman Razumovskii did not managed to live in the Palace because he has died in the same year when building was finished. Baturin Archaeology Museum is devoted to the history of Neolithic times. Excursion fee 40UAH- for adults, 25UAH - for children.
House of the general judge Vasslii Kochubei and Kochubeievskii park.
Bee museum named by P. Prokopovich with active apiary in the yard.
Nicholas-Krupitskii Monastery (7 km from Baturin) . It is orthodox nunnery and is a part of Baturin nature reserve.
