Top 10 events of Ukraine preparation for Euro 2012

The passing year leaves behind the greatest achievements in Ukraine's preparations for the 2012 European Cup. Ukraine has not only demonstrated a high rate, but also managed to launch dozens of new facilities, completing the lion's share of construction of all projects under the Euro 2012 program.

This was repeatedly stated by UEFA managers. In particular, we have heard the famous phrase "Bravo, Ukraine!" from Michel Platini (UEFA president) after his inspection of the four hosting cities in September. In addition, he has repeatedly praised the Ukrainian stadium arenas, noting that they are better than the Euro 2008 stadiums.

Information Center "Ukraine-2012" sums up the country achievements.

1. Opening of two stadiums for the Euro - in Kiev and Lvov is a key event in the rate.

2. Completion of all construction by the end of 2011 and putting into service “hosting” terminals in Kiev, Lviv and Donetsk airports. They will start functioning in March 2012 at the beginning of summer European season.

3. The commission of the largest runway in Donetsk can be considered as the third great event of the year. It isn’t only the most modern in Ukraine, but also one of the best in Europe.

4. The final part of Euro 2012 casting of lots ceremony which Ukraine has carried out perfectly takes the fourth place in the ranking.

5. Fifth-rated is a new super-modern junction of the highway Kiev-Chop (128-km).

6. The first train “HUNDAI” given to Ukrainian governmental delegation. In May it will be running for high-speed communication between hosting Euro 2012 cities.

7. Presentation of the Ukrainian team new equipment in November.

8. Opening of VIP-terminal and a five-star hotel in Kharkov.

9. In December, the National Bank of Ukraine has issued 11 commemorative coins.

10. In early December, Ukraine has launched a new promo-reel for Euro 2012 titled «High time to see Ukraine».
